An Independent Baptist Church will tend to hold to traditional Baptist standards of music (hymns, no contemporary or rock music), Bible versions (King James Version only), and administration (single, male pastor, deacons as church servants). This is not always the case, and many of the churches listed within this category may not take the same stance, but this is typically what you can expect when you visit one of these churches. Be sure to check out the Tags on their listing page on this site, or visit their Statement of Faith, to find out for sure what each independent Baptist church stands for.
An Independent Baptist Church is an independent, autonomous, local body of believers, called out of the world for the purpose of glorifying God and preaching the gospel. 2 Corinthians 5 gives us the motive for our commission ("for the love of Christ constraineth us"), the means for preaching the commission ("the ministry of reconciliation"), and the method for communicating this commission ("the word of reconciliation"). The New Testament believer, as a part of an independent Baptist church, should be administering this ministry, the ministry of Reconciliation, in the darkness of the lost world around him.

True North is an Independent Baptist Church that believes strongly in the power of the Word of God to change lives and bring meaning to hopeless sinners. Each year the church holds a Mission’s Conference with several missionaries and Pastors preaching throughout the week.
In all that has happened at Plack Road Baptist Church, God must receive the glory, truly great things he has done. Some have planted, some have watered, but God gave the increase.(2 Cor.3:6) It is the desire of the church that in the years ahead God would continue to receive glory through them as a church. (Eph.3:21)
If you are not now regularly worshiping in a church that’s meeting your spiritual needs, why not consider making Plack Road Baptist Church your house of worship.
Independent Baptist Church in North Pole, Alaska
Pioneer Bible Church was planted in Moose Creek, Alaska by Hamilton Acres Baptist Church in Fairbanks, Alaska. In the fall of 1999, Pastor Bruce Hamilton of Hamilton Acres Baptist Church noticed ten families making the drive from Eielson Air Force Base (22 miles each way) for church services. All were faithful, tithing families. Pastor Bruce Hamilton met with each one and based upon their enthusiasm, started a Wednesday night bible study at the Salcha Senior Center in Salcha, Alaska. The average attendance on those Wednesday nights was forty-two. This confirmed what Pastor Bruce and the deacons of HABC had been praying for: a faithful, giving group of people by whom a solid fundamental Baptist work could be planted.
