Wimbledon Church – London, UK

St Johns Church of England (Continuing) is a small Bible believing church in Wimbledon,  London.

We are a Psalm singing Church using mainly the 1650 Scottish Metrical version. Friends who have joined us have been pleasantly surprised how good it is to sing the praises which God has given rather than manmade hymns.

We use the Authorised Version (KJV) and are an old Protestant Church in Wimbledon, London.

The pastor since 2003 is Peter Ratcliff.

We are located close to the Trinitarian Bible Society which is the only non ecumenical Bible translator and publisher in the UK using the text underlying the AV(KJV).

The congregation was formed in 1994 when several ministers left the Church of England, having fought long and hard to bring it back to the Bible.  But the Church of England went further in the wrong direction by appointing women to rule them.

This was the final straw which led several men to start our church. It enabled us to peel away centuries of error and return to the old Evangelical faith and worship which was so clearly brought back through men like Martin Luther and William Tyndale who brought back the Gospel in our native languages rather than a mystical Roman Catholic ritualism

We are good friends with Bethel Baptist, Wimbledon, although we are not Dispensationalist but Reformed.
