Brandywine Baptist Church stands at the edge of the Brandywine Battlefield in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Established in 1692, we are the oldest continuously operating Baptist church west of Philadelphia. In 1777 the Battle of Brandywine was fought in close proximity to the church, with at least two members associated with General Washington’s forces. The present stone church building was completed in 1869. Brandywine Baptist Church takes joy in its part in the history of the United States of America, and its current service to the community.
Brandywine Baptist has a 300+ year tradition of sharing our table. We believe in keeping our “table” as close to the New Testament model as possible: studying the Bible, fellowshipping with one another, sharing meals and communion, and praying together. Come join us around the Lord’s table!
