Attended a funeral here today for an old family friend. She was o good woman. Not perfect but none of us are. She overcame a horrible addiction many years ago and was so proud of it. Never ashamed and never denied it. She was a loving wife for many years and a darn good Momma to her 2 boys. This “preacher,” never mentioned that. Said she lived a life of sin and we all better come to him to find Jesus because the rapture will be here soon. I appreciate that he wanted to reach out to attendees of this funeral, but to not say one kind word about this woman, this God fearing woman, was disgusting. Also he stated she died of cirrhosis of the liver from her sins was indeed deplorable. She had fatty liver disease caused by a poor diet. Not what he implied. But if having a poor diet is living in sin, this preacher man is not far behind her cause he for sure has a poor diet! I would argue Mr preacher if the rapture is coming soon, after today’s funeral service you best get down on your knees and pray for forgiveness for this day! This is a verse you use to comfort the grieving, Shannon. Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth with wisdom and the teachings of kindness is on her tongue.” Also 1 Peter 3:4 the love for one’s Mother never comes from what she wears or what she eats bit from who she is and how her personality and character positively affect her children and all of those around her. In my opinion you did a disservice to her and her children today and really yourself. Appalling.
