At Baymeadows Baptist Church, located in Jacksonville, FL, we are preparing for the retirement of our pastor of over 30 years, and so we are earnestly seeking the man of God He has chosen to serve as our full-time Senior Pastor.
BBC is an independent, fundamental Baptist Church that desires a Spirit-led preacher and teacher, one who boldly proclaims the Word of God, holds fast to conservative KJV doctrine, and leads with humility, wisdom, and conviction. We are looking for a pastor with a Christ-centered vision—faithfully tending to our current congregation while helping us reach new families and generations with the gospel, including leadership in the school ministry of 250 K-8th graders.
Key Responsibilities:
Preach the gospel, counsel the membership, have charge of the spiritual welfare of the congregation and direct the ordering of all worship services to ensure services are meaningful, accessible, and spiritually enriching.
Serve as School Principal to the adjacent ministry Baymeadows Christian Academy, overseeing all daily responsibilities in the school and continuing to promote attendance as well as godly edification of the students.
Develop and deliver engaging and biblically based sermons that are in line with BBC’s doctrinal beliefs.
Lead in the growth and discipleship of our youth, young adults, and related ministries to attract and meet the spiritual needs of that demographic.
Build and optimize multiple social media accounts for the church that will promote church visibility and enhance discipleship of the members.
Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and plan for the church’s growth and relevant community outreach as well as discipleship initiatives.
Serve as the spiritual and administrative leader of the church and associated school and work in a spirit of cooperation with the Deacons, Trustees, and other ministries to meet the needs of the congregation and administration and management of church and school operations.
Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, including visiting the sick and counseling and support during times of grief or other traumatic events.
Supervise all church and school staff, including performing yearly evaluations and recommend training as needed.
Manage the congregational organization through planning, decision making, delegating, evaluating, and managing conflict and stress.
