We love Calvary Baptist Church. The preaching is clear and rooted directly in Scripture, and we find it easy to follow along even without bringing a Bible. They had Bibles available to use during the service and even mentioned they would gladly give one to anyone who didn’t have one.
The pastor teaches from the New King James Version, and we even noticed people using a variety of faithful translations. There is a clear focus on understanding and applying God’s Word in its original, historacle and grmatical context.
Visited recently and was very encouraged by the preaching and overall ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. The teaching was clear, careful, and rooted in the text of Scripture, which was refreshing. The pastor primarily used the New King James Version and handled the passage exegetically.
For those who may find this church listed as King James only, that was not my experience at all. This is not a KJV only church, but one that is committed to faithfully teaching God’s Word. The people were welcoming, and the focus was clearly on Christ and the Bible. I would gladly recommend visiting.
Calvary Baptist Church is not a King James Only church. They are a Regular Baptist church committed to the authority, inspiration, and faithful exposition of Scripture. Their regular pulpit and teaching ministry ordinarily use the New King James Version. While they value faithful English translations of the Bible, they do not hold or promote a King James Only position. Those seeking a specifically King James Only church should understand that this directory category does not accurately represent our church’s doctrinal position or ministry practice.
