In August of 2000, the Trinity Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas, pastored by Dr. Bob W. Smith, ordained and licensed James Rasbeary to the gospel ministry. In September, he was commissioned to go and start a new Baptist church in the Wylie/Sachse area. On October 1, 2000, the church held its first service with 11 in attendance. The church grew steadily and by the end of the first year had purchased an existing church property just north of downtown Wylie. This property included an auditorium, a two-story building, and an unfinished gym. Over the last ten years, hundreds have been saved and baptized through the church’s ministry, and many missionaries and church planters have been helped and supported. The church has enjoyed steady and solid growth. From the first service with 11 people, the ministry of the church has increased in many different directions. We here at LBC praise the Lord Jesus Christ for His goodness to us, and look forward to our best days yet to come.
