Nestled in the hills just north of Placerville on State Highway 193 is the little town of Kelsey. Originally settled during the California Gold Rush, Kelsey is one of the few remaining mining towns that still survive that era. Kelsey Bible Church, established originally in 1914, looks forward to soon celebrating 100 years of ministry to Kelsey and the surrounding community. Kelsey Bible Baptist Church in Kelsey, California is seeking a bi-vocational pastor. The church just voted to change its operating name to be Kelsey Bible Baptist Church which will be official March 12. This is an Independent Baptist Church that uses only the KJV and traditional music. They are a small mountain church that was established in 1914. The church’s former pastor has retired as of November 1, 2023. There is an interim in place. A small salary can be provided, but the pastor needs to be bi-vocational, missionary, or self supporting.
The church building (recently remodeled) and property are free and clear, with no debt. The church, which averages 20 in attendance, has a sweet spirit and wants to follow the man of God as the Lord leads. There is a lot of potential and need for a good Gospel preaching church in this area. Kelsey is a Northern California, unincorporated community located in a county of 191,200 souls near the Nevada border, about halfway between Sacramento, California and Lake Tahoe.
